20 an hour Job Summary This position is responsible for the enforcement of county codes and ordinances.
Job Duties Conducts onsite inspections and re-inspections of buildings, structures, and land to determine compliance with applicable zoning, noise, public safety, and nuisance codes.
Maintains files of inspections, re-inspections, consultations, and telephone conversations.
Inputs inspection reports, investigation notes and consultation data into computer database.
Issues warnings and/or court citations for code violations.
Prepares cases and testifies in court.
Performs erosion control inspections if needed.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Associates degree preferred.
More than two years of related experience preferred.
Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of code enforcement principles and practices.
Knowledge of county zoning, noise, public safety, nuisance, and other relevant codes.
Knowledge of the methods used in conducting and documenting field investigations.
Knowledge of records management principles.
Knowledge of modern office principles and practices.
Skill in the use of computer and job-related software programs.
Skill in the analysis of problems and the development and implementation of solutions.
Skill in the preparation of clear and precise administrative reports.
Skill in oral and written communication.
