Job Summary:

Responsible for monitoring, educating and follow up of enrolled patients on anticoagulation medications as well as application of event monitors.

Essential Duties:

  • Perform ongoing follow-up and education with anticoagulation therapy patients per protocol.
  • Schedule hematocrit and hemoglobin per protocol.
  • Collect appropriate data and perform testing to prepare patient for physician visit.
  • Prepare patient charts and obtain any necessary medical records.
  • Maintain patient flow through the clinic.
  • Pull patient voicemails and process messages to the nurses as appropriate.
  • Complete patient refills as requested by both patient and pharmacy, ensuring appropriate labs are ordered as needed and protocol is followed.
  • Assist nurses with patient messages as necessary.
  • Assist nurses with reviewing physician blue book as necessary.


  • Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program


  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program


  • AAMA-CMA, AMT-RMA, NCCT-NCMA, or NHA-CCMA (other certifications may be considered)
  • BLS certification

This position requires a criminal background check. Therefore, you may be required to provide information about you criminal history in order to be considered for this position.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
